Welcome Desk of the University of Montpellier : For any question related to your arrival and/or administrative procedures, you can contact the UM Welcome Desk of international students of the University of Montpellier. Documentation adapted to your situation is available (accomodation, health, scholarships, welcome etc.), and a dedicated email adress to answer your questions aswell.

SAIEC : Organization dedicated to the welcome and accompaniment of foreign students of the University of Montpellier. Notably useful for helping students finding accomodation throught the PHARE (Accomodation Service for International Students). Others services are included, such as :

  • Online virtual assistant, which aims to help students into their administrative procedures. It can create for you a “roadmap” referencing what you should do, and at which time before your arrival.
  • Schedule an appointment with a SAIEC’s assistant (available by phone or visioconference)
  • General accompaniement with the administrative processes : Bank account opening, Social Security and CAF forms, Visas and residence permits etc.

Finding its own International Relations Office : Depending on the University Department in charge of your program, a dedicated international relations office is available. It will answer all of your questions and direct you towards the relevant interlocutors.

3- Open a bank account

4- Finalize registration at University of Montpellier

5- Complete Social security and complementary health insurance registration

3- Open a bank account

4- Finalize registration at University of Montpellier

5- Complete Social security and complementary health (except for students with a valide European Health Insurance card for the duration of their studies)

STEP 4

First week in France

1 – Identify the appropriate university care or preventive medicine center

2 – Purchase of transportation pass or tickets – TAM network

3 – Apply for the “Pass Metropole”
