An investment in the future for a historic university

The Interdisciplinary Project – In Lab’ is the University of Montpellier’s graduate program. Funded by the “Investment for the Future 3” program, it responds to the call for proposals titled “Structuring Education through Research in Initiatives of Excellence” (SFRI).

The goal of the project is to transform the university’s teaching approach by offering students training in “Research for Research,” immersing them in laboratory settings starting in their first year of the Master’s program.

The program will be implemented gradually, starting with 8 inaugural Master's programs and 1 engineering track from the beginning of the 2022 academic year. Based on this initial experience, the plan is to increase the number of IDIL courses and integrate them into the new Montpellier University’s training offer. The aim is to gradually apply this model to 18 courses in 2024, then 30 Master's courses in 2029.
