REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Civil liability insurance certificate (student life/extracurricular life). This insurance covers a person's obligation to repair damage caused to a third party by their own fault, carelessness, negligence or by using their own, rented or borrowed property. This document can be obtained from your homeowner's/tenant's insurance company, your supplementary health insurance company or when opening a French bank account.
  • Certificate of payment of the contribution to student life on campus (CVEC).
  • Documents to be submitted depending on the program: Application, Admission, Enrollment – University of Montpellier (umontpellier.fr)

Obtain the CVEC certificate

The CVEC (contribution for the student life of the campus), or student life and campus contribution, helps to promote the welcoming of students on campus and the social, health, cultural and sports support they receive as well as the preventive and health education actions that are carried out for them. Depending on your personal situation, you will either pay a lump sum of €92 or will be exempt.

In either cases, a certificate will be issued to you so that you can complete your registration. To do this, go to:Home - CVEC, Contribution de vie étudiante et de campus (etudiant.gouv.fr).

Before starting your on-line registration, make sure to have your INE number (the INE (Identification Nationale Etudiant) or BEA number which appears on your student card or baccalauréat transcript, or on the baccalauréat registration confirmation form).

If you do not have an INE number, you will need to provide proof of registration in French higher education for the current or future academic year, or proof of an internship in France (a proposal for temporary accommodation in a university residence, sent to you by the CROUS by e-mail, is accepted as proof).
