TU Ecology: A field trip to the La Gardiole massif
The objective of the TU Mediterranean Ecosystems TU is to discover Mediterranean terrestrial environments, their diversity, dynamics, and history.

A refreshing excursion to discover the local flora and fauna.
As part of this internship, we set off for the Gardiole Massif on December 10, 2022. Prof. Christophe Petit and Prof. Vincent Girard from ISEM (Montpellier Institute of Evolutionary Sciences) took us on an excursion to observe different species of birds typical of the Mediterranean coast. Later, while walking in the Gardiole, we were able to identify plant species specific to this environment. Finally, we learned the basics of dendrochronology, the scientific method of dating tree growth rings.
