TU Non-core medicine: A successful laboratory visit

The Teaching Unit (TU) Non-Core Innovations in Clinical Biomarkers Biotechnologies for Personalized Medicine aims to provide our IDIL students with a multi-disciplinary training in innovative biotechnologies in a clinical context, enabling them to acquire knowledge of patient-assisting technologies in the medical field, for example notions of biomanufacturers and cutting-edge cancer procedures. The course also aims to encourage critical thinking by illustrating the reality of medical diagnostic statistics...

An enlightening visit to the IRMB laboratory

As part of this course, Prof. Christophe Hirtz invited us on a guided tour of the Institute of Regenerative Medicine and Biotherapy (IRMB CHU). He began by highlighting safety measures in the medical facilities where researchers carry out experiments, before taking us on a tour of the various rooms where we could see the latest cutting-edge medical technologies at first hand.

In the photos below, you can see the machines he and his research team use to study different proteins in stem cells.

What is a Non-Core teaching unit?

This is an introductory course to a new discipline, enabling our students to develop multidisciplinary knowledge designed to encourage critical thinking and the scientific approach.
