Launch of Interdisciplinary DAY

A first for the Graduate IDIL program

Last Saturday, February 24, saw the1st edition of its official day dedicated to interdisciplinarity: Interdisciplinary Day!

We were honored by the presence of the President of the University of Montpellier, Mr. Philippe Augé, for the opening of the event. The aim of the event was to bring together a large part of the IDIL community on the same day, in order to strengthen interdisciplinary links between our students.

The program was divided into 3 main parts:

  • A presentation of the 2 theses by our IDIL doctoral students and their thesis co-directors in TedX format
  • Presentation of the 5 multidisciplinary projects of our M2 students
  • 2 interdisciplinary discussions between our students as part of the IDIL House Cup, under the supervision of international researchers from the Mak'it Institute (name the researchers). The 2 discussion themes? "AI and its impacts on different disciplinary fields" | "IPCC as an effective model of interdisciplinarity?"

And of course, in the middle of this busy day, a convivial buffet with wooden game activities brings participants together for a friendly moment!

Our sincere thanks go to the students for their significant contributions to the event, to our project leaders Agnès-Fichard Carroll and Mathieu Sicard, and to the logistics teams who made it possible.

We'll soon be putting up dedicated posts highlighting the students who volunteered for our interdisciplinary discussions, and who had the unique experience of exchanging views on stage in front of a panel of internationally renowned researchers. Don't hesitate to check them out!

Special thanks to our student Marine Jannin, who volunteered to be the photographer for the event! Instagram : @photographie_mari
