Launch of Interdisciplinary DAY

A major milestone for the Graduate Program

On Saturday, February 24, thefirst edition of its official day dedicated to interdisciplinarity took place: Interdisciplinary Day!

We were honored to have the President of the University of Montpellier, Mr. Philippe Augé, join us for the opening of the event. The event was designed to bring together a large portion of the IDIL community for a single day in order to strengthen the interdisciplinary ties among our students.

The event program was divided into three main parts:

  • A TedX-style presentation of the two complementary dissertations by our IDIL doctoral students and their co-advisors
  • Presentation of the 5 multidisciplinary projects by our Master’s 2 students
  • Two interdisciplinary discussions among our students as part of the IDIL House Cup, supervised by international researchers from the Mak’it Institute (list the researchers). The two discussion topics? “AI and its impact on various academic disciplines” | “The IPCC as an effective model of interdisciplinarity?”

And of course, in the middle of this busy day, there was a lively buffet with wooden board games that brought everyone together for a fun time!

We would like to sincerely thank the students for their significant contributions to the event, our project leaders Agnès-Fichard Carroll and Mathieu Sicard, as well as the logistics teams who made this event possible.

We will soon be posting dedicated articles highlighting our students who volunteered to participate in our interdisciplinary discussions and had the unique opportunity to present their work on stage before a panel of renowned international researchers. Be sure to check them out!

A special thank you to our student Marine Jannin, who volunteered to be the event photographer! Instagram: @photographie_mari
