Launch ofTU Project 2025โ€“2026

Last Saturday, students in the IDIL graduate program began their journey as part of the Multidisciplinary Project course. This year, fourteen groups were formed, each consisting of 3 to 4 students from our twelve masterโ€™s programs, including political science, ecology, health, and many others. Together, they will co-develop a research proposal integrating several scientific fields ๐Ÿ”€

The Multidisciplinary Project is a cornerstone of the IDIL program. Its primary objective is to familiarize students with the processes and methodologies required to design and manage multidisciplinary research projects. This approach is essential for addressing growing scientific and societal challenges, such as climate change and public health issues, which require the combined expertise of multiple disciplines. Today, researchers are increasingly required to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

How does it actually work? ๐Ÿ”Ž

๐Ÿ”ฌ Each group is supervised by a faculty member who guides them throughout the project, from the initial brainstorming sessions to the drafting of the letter of intent.

๐Ÿ“Š This project represents a key milestone in the academic year for our Masterโ€™s students. The assessment includes a review of the state of the art and a graphical abstract (30% of the final grade), while the main assessment (60%) focuses on each groupโ€™s letter of intent. Active participation and engagement during the course account for the remaining 10%.

We would like to sincerely thank the dedicated faculty members who make this course possible: Mathieu Sicard, Laura Michel, Arnaud Tognetti, Constance Delaby, Marie Charpentier, Guillaume Charriรจre, and Emanuel A. Fronhofer for their expertise and dedication. We would also like to thank Ginna Kurmen, our Learning Experience Designer, for her contribution to the courseโ€™s instructional design.

We look forward to seeing the research proposals that will emerge from this collaboration. We wish all our masterโ€™s students a rewarding and inspiring experience on this journey!
