The Roles of Mentors and Tutors at idil

Mentors, Academic Advising (M1/M2)

Researchers or Faculty Members

They provide personalized support to their mentees
throughout their two-year master’s program:

  • Provides year-round support to students as they pursue their educational goals
  • Provides personalized supplementary instruction
  • Offers opportunities to connect with its professional network, labs, conferences, etc.
  • Supervises the Research Internship
  • Assistance with developing the Personal Project in consultation with the advisor (M1)
  • Assistance with the development of the Multidisciplinary Project (M2)

Tutors: Academic Support (M1)

Faculty Members


They provide personalized support to their students
during their first year of the Master’s program:

  • Provides year-round support to students as they pursue their educational goals
  • Assistance with developing the Personal Project in consultation with the mentor
  • Tracks the progress of the laboratory immersion
