IDIL Research Internships: Research on Sustainable Rice Farming 🌾

Our master’s student in “Plant and Microbiological Sciences for the Agro-Environment,” Marielle Arnous, has just completed an internship in Cambodia, where she worked on the use of beneficial bacteria as alternatives to pesticides (biocontrol). She is currently conducting a sampling mission in the terraced rice paddies of Yuanyang (Yunnan, China) 🌍

This year, her research focuses on how rice’s genetic diversity and plant-plant interactions influence the microbiome, helping crops naturally resist diseases and highlighting sustainable alternatives to pesticides—promising avenues for more environmentally friendly agriculture 🧬
