IDIL Research Internships: Research on Sustainable Rice Farming 🌾
Marielle Arnous, our master’s student in “Plant and Microbiological Sciences for the Agro-Environment,” has just completed an internship in Cambodia, where she worked on the use of beneficial bacteria as alternatives to pesticides (biocontrol). She is currently conducting a sampling mission in the terraced rice fields of Yuanyang (Yunnan, China) 🌍
This year, her research focuses on how rice’s genetic diversity and plant-to-plant interactions influence the microbiome, helping crops naturally resist disease and highlighting sustainable alternatives to pesticides—promising avenues for more environmentally friendly agriculture 🧬
Congratulations to Marielle on the quality of her fieldwork and for brilliantly representing the IDIL program in China!
