IDIL Research Internships: Research on Sustainable Rice Cultivation 🌾
Our master’s student in “Plant and Microbiological Sciences for the Agroenvironment,” Marielle Arnous, has just completed an internship in Cambodia, where she worked on the use of beneficial bacteria as alternatives to pesticides (biocontrol). She is currently conducting a sampling mission in the terraced rice fields of Yuanyang (Yunnan, China) 🌍
This year, her research focuses on how rice’s genetic diversity and plant-to-plant interactions influence the microbiome, helping crops naturally resist diseases and highlighting sustainable alternatives to pesticides—promising avenues for more environmentally friendly agriculture 🧬
Congratulations to Marielle on the quality of her fieldwork and for brilliantly representing the IDIL program in China!
